    Your Key Responsibilities

    • Perform as project manager, and/or technical specialist on traffic engineering projects, responsible for invoicing, managing, and monitoring financial performance of project budgets.
    • Serve as a technical specialist and consultant to the transportation engineering discipline on transportation-related projects.
    • Prepare reports and develop planning documents.
    • Communicate with clients and stakeholders to understand client’s needs.
    • Identify and analyze the principal design features and major design alternatives that satisfy the project’s purpose and the client’s needs.
    • Evaluate technical product documentation for incorporating requirements into design documents.
    • Produce detailed, high-quality final design plans, specifications, and estimates in accordance with applicable procedures and standards.
    • Peer review plans and provide quality control reviews of technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates.
    • Mentor junior staff in technical design elements and the development of project documents.
    • Actively identify project pursuit opportunities, manage client relationships, develop new clients, and assist in the preparation of proposals to win those pursuits.

    Qualifications

    Your Capabilities and Credentials

    • Professional Engineer registered in the State of Louisiana or the ability to obtain within 6 months
    • Proficient in design of transportation/civil engineering projects including preparation of plans and specifications, and cost estimates for traffic signal, roadway lighting, or ITS construction.
    • Ability to lead one or more design teams through all phases of project production.
    • Ability to perform and/or oversee the preparation of ITS design plans, traffic signal design plans, and systems engineering analysis documents.
    • Thorough knowledge and interpretation of transportation industry standards and guidance i.e. AASHTO, MUTCD, FHWA
    • Proficient in planning and report preparation
    • Recent experience planning and developing ITS projects is desired.

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor’s or higher Degree in Civil Engineering.
    • 5 years of experience in the field of Civil Engineering with preference given to transportation experience.

    Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. [GD1] Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
