The Transportation Coordinator position functions in a fast-paced environment that is responsible for the execution and monitoring of trailer yard operations. This position coordinates across multiple facilities with 3 rd party operators, carriers, and local Pactiv Evergreen teams to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

Responsibilities:

• Control and manage flow of trailer yards at assigned facilities. Recommend and influence placement of trailers for efficient operations.
• Assist in the coordinating the day-to-day operations of all aspects of logistics, as required.
• Coordinate and direct 3 rd party contract spotters. Address out of service and rejected trailers with carriers.
• Improve management of assigned trailer pool yards by monitoring costs and addressing root causes of operational problems.
• Utilize yard management software to monitor carrier trailer pools. Ensure all users are utilizing the YMS correctly to manage the yard effectively.
• Determine trailer re-positioning needs between shared trailer pool sites.
• Submit Requests for Shipment (RFS) for non-finished goods shipments. Create manual bills of lading and arrange carrier pickups for same day if needed.
• Attend daily planning meeting and other required meetings with assigned facilities.
• Share best practices with other regional transportation coordinators.

Qualifications:

• BA/BS degree preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent and 3 years logistics experience required.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast pace setting.
• Experience and proficiency with various Microsoft tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
• Good verbal & interpersonal communication skills with internal/external customers.
