JOB TITLE: ATIA Sales Manager
OVERVIEW:
ATIA is Alaska’s only statewide membership trade association for the travel industry and represents over 600 members and businesses in Alaska tourism. ATIA promotes Alaska’s visitor industry as one of the state’s major economic forces and advocates for the growth of the industry, while remaining attentive to Alaska’s natural environment, diverse cultures, and unique quality of life. ATIA conducts advocacy, education, and administers the State of Alaska’s destination marketing program.
ATIA’s membership is the core of who we are, and this key position will provide consistent engagement with the industry we serve. The Sales Manager will be responsible for state-wide promotion and sales of ATIA’scooperative marketing programs and ATIA membership. The ATIA sales manager is responsible for retaining and/or enhancing current business relationships and creating new business sales within the travel and tourism industry. This position will share information about the ways ATIA’s programs can support their business by communicating about member benefits and marketing opportunities.
The ATIA team is comprised of eight dynamic individuals with a passion for the travel industry. Hospitality, enthusiasm, kindness, collaboration, and support are the core of our culture. We are looking for a team member to join us who has strongwritten/oral communication skills, proven sales management skills and the ability to multi-task and work well under pressure. Prior experience in Alaska tourism is preferred, however not required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· The ATIA sales manager is responsible for maintaining and bringing in new businesses within the travel and tourism industry and is accountable for closing sales with current and new customers for membership and the cooperative marketing program.
· The ATIA sales manager will provide creative solutions and present recommendations for businesses seeking assistance regarding ad placements or additional advertising opportunities.
· The ATIA sales manager will be responsible for the content management system (CMS), supporting the marketing sales and membership databases.
· Participates in the recruitment of new members via outreach, presentations, sales calls, and print or electronic media.
· Plan/coordinate sales outreach efforts (emails, telephone calls) promoting cooperative marketing programs to interested travel related businesses.
· Monitor program sales monthly to reach revenue goals.
· The ATIA sales manager is part of a collaborative team and may perform other duties in support of association services, including the annual ATIA convention and trade show and membership support.

This is an exempt position and reports to the Membership Director. ATIA promotes flexible work schedules, including working from home.
Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 DOE
Location: ATIA’s team works from 610 E. 5th Avenue in downtown Anchorage, AK.
