Being a Treasurer directs and manages treasury activities of an organization including financial forecasting and mitigating risk. Ensures financial transactions, policies, and procedures fulfill the organization's objectives, needs, and regulatory body requirements. Additionally, Treasurer is responsible for the corporate banking, credit, and investment functions. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Treasurer manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function. Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments. To be a Treasurer typically requires 8+ years of managerial experience. PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Massachusetts State Retirement Board (MSRB) administers a defined benefit retirement plan for eligible employees of the Commonwealth and certain independent entities.
The Disbursement Manager leads the MSRB team charged with the timely and accurate execution of regularly high volume of refund/ rollover requests, and the transfers of accounts for MSERS members to other participating retirement systems.
