Additionally, Treasurer is responsible for the corporate banking, credit, and investment functions. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Treasurer manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function. Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments. To be a Treasurer typically requires 8+ years of managerial experience.     SUMMARY:

    Under basic supervision, provides routine customer service on behalf of the Teton County Treasurer’s Office; performs a variety of basic clerical, technical, and support functions related to the collection of revenue; primarily in motor vehicle registration.


    PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The job description is subject to change at any time by the employer. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:


    • Assists customers at the public counter and by telephone and internet; responds to public inquiries regarding County motor vehicle registration and departmental programs, services, policies, processes, and procedures
    • Resolves technical issues, and makes appropriate decisions based on experience; refers matters requiring policy interpretation to supervisor for resolution.
    • Calculates applicable taxes and fees, and processes tax payments, vehicle registrations, and other transactions.
    • Performs duties within scope of authority and training, and in compliance with County policies and quality standards; duties may vary according to job assignment.
    • Supports the relationship between the Teton County staff and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with visitors and County staff; maintains confidentiality of work-related issues and County information; performs other duties as required or assigned.


    Requirements


    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education and Experience:

    • High School diploma or GED equivalent; AND one year of customer service and computer experience; OR equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.


    Required Licenses and Certifications:

    • Must possess a valid Wyoming/Idaho Driver’s License and maintain an acceptable driving record.


    Required Knowledge of:

    • County policies and procedures, and pertinent federal and state laws, regulations, and procedures.
    • Customer service principles, protocols, and standards.
    • Standard and specialized computer software applications.
    • Basic principles and practices of accounting, cash handling, record keeping, and records management.


    Required Skills in:

    • Responding to public inquiries and providing information on departmental services, programs, policies, and procedures.
    • Accurately processing technical transactions, and maintaining departmental records, files, and documentation.
    • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other staff, and the general public.
    • Communicating effectively verbally and in writing.


    Physical Demands/Work Environment:

    • Work is performed in a standard office environment.
