Missaukee County is seeking qualified applicants for the full-time position of Deputy Treasurer. Duties include preparing and maintaining bookkeeping and accounting records in accordance with County standards, receipting and tracking disbursements of current taxes, making daily deposits, reviewing property ownership transfer documents, answering questions regarding taxes at the counter and over the phone, preparing reports, and other duties as assigned.
Position reports to the County Treasurer. Requires graduation from high school, an Associate’s Degree in accounting or related field is preferred. Minimum of two years in an accounting/banking office environment preferred. Proficiency with computers also necessary. Starting wage: $15.3428/hr.; after four years: $19.7402/hr. Health insurance and paid time off; all compensation and fringe benefits in accordance with AFSCME collective bargaining agreement. In addition, appointment to this position on a permanent basis is contingent upon successful completion of the required probationary period.
