Maintains contact with dispatcher to provide status updates, clarify special instructions, and notify about delays or issues during transport. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires Commercial Driver License (CDL) - Class A. May require a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC). Typically reports to a supervisor. The Truck Driver - Heavy works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline.     Atlantic Emergency Solutions is seeking a full-time Mobile Heavy Truck/Diesel Mechanic to cover Morgantown, WV and the surrounding areas that include Wheeling, Weston, Buchanan and Elkton areas. 


    Our Mobile Heavy Truck/Diesel Mechanics are responsible for analyzing malfunctions and determine the necessary repairs for fire and emergency equipment. This includes, but is not limited to the chassis, body, water pumps, electrical components, and engines.  A Mobile Heavy Truck/Diesel Mechanic will operate and inspect this equipment and evaluate the best course of action to return the apparatus to a safe operating condition.  This individual examines parts for damage or excessive wear using their own and company provided specialized tooling.  This candidate will repair, rebuild, overhaul, and replace defective assemblies and components such as gauges, air fittings, plumbing lines and valves, hydraulic lines, various pumps, and basic engine components. The individual will test repaired equipment to ensure operating efficiency and safety prior to releasing the apparatus for duty.  

    Requirements

    Successful candidate will have at least three years of prior experience in the heavy truck industry, along with being able to lift up to 30lbs without assistance. Pre-employment drug screening and satisfactory driving record required. Additionally Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Class B with Tanker endorsement is preferred. ASE Mechanic and EVT certifications as well as state inspection license a plus.
