Truck Driver - Tractor Trailer operates a large or heavy truck that transports cargo to and from specified locations on time and according to schedule. Operates vehicle safely and responsibly, adhering to all DOT and company safety regulations. Being a Truck Driver - Tractor Trailer conducts routine inspections prior to departure to ensure the vehicle is in optimal condition. Manages appropriate cargo documentation and provides necessary paperwork upon the delivery of goods. Additionally, Truck Driver - Tractor Trailer coordinates the loading and unloading of the truck, verifying cargo and ensuring items are properly stored and secured. Maintains contact with dispatcher to provide status updates, clarify special instructions, and notify about delays or issues during transport. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires Commercial Driver License (CDL) - Class A. May require a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC). Typically reports to a supervisor. The Truck Driver - Tractor Trailer independently performs a wide range of complex duties under general guidance from supervisors. As the Tractor Operator/Warehouse Powered Industrial Lift Operator, you will move trailers from plant to warehouse using gasoline or diesel-powered trucks. May perform emergency roadside repairs such as changing tires, or installing light bulbs or fuses. Drives standup and sit down electric powered industrial truck equipped with lifting devices such as a forklift to move product in/out of warehouse. May be required to supply workers with materials and supplies as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Drive truck to destination maneuvering vehicle in difficult situations such as narrow passageways
2. Hook and unhook trailers several times during shift
3. Operate powered industrial lifts
4. Operate forklift in accordance with company policy
5. Positions forks under loaded pallets or tote boxes and transports load to designated area.
6. Unload and stack material by raising or lowering lifting device.
Qualifications:- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- Valid CDL and ability to pass a DOT physical
- Have or be able to obtain McCain Forklift Certification and McCain Aerial Lift Certification
- 2 years clean driving experience using CDL, forklift experience preferred
- Computer, language, and mathematical skills
Constant: Reach with hands and arms.
Frequently: Stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; stoop kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
Occasionally: Climb or balance and taste or smell.
