Truck Driver - Tractor Trailer operates a large or heavy truck that transports cargo to and from specified locations on time and according to schedule. Operates vehicle safely and responsibly, adhering to all DOT and company safety regulations. Being a Truck Driver - Tractor Trailer conducts routine inspections prior to departure to ensure the vehicle is in optimal condition. Manages appropriate cargo documentation and provides necessary paperwork upon the delivery of goods. Additionally, Truck Driver - Tractor Trailer coordinates the loading and unloading of the truck, verifying cargo and ensuring items are properly stored and secured. Maintains contact with dispatcher to provide status updates, clarify special instructions, and notify about delays or issues during transport. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires Commercial Driver License (CDL) - Class A. May require a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC). Typically reports to a supervisor. The Shipping/Dock side of this position needs to be able to lift up to 40lbs, have a valid drivers license, be able to drive a yard truck, be good with numbers and having attention to details is a must. The ability to work by oneself while keeping constant and productive communication with Supervisor.
The tractor-trailer driving position would consist of picking-up eggs from and deliver material to Creighton Brothers Farms as scheduled with a positive attitude. Complying with all company policies as well as state and federal laws. Reporting needed repairs on the late model tractor and reefer trailer to Transportation Manager. Filling out driver vehicle inspection reports daily and turn in a copy to the Transportation Manager daily. Keeping inside and outside of truck and trailer clean.
Comply with all Creighton Brothers SOP's. Follow and adhere to OSHA and DOT standards.
Documenting, recording, and filing all necessary paperwork for every truckload is of upmost importance.
