JOB FUNCTION:
The Trust Officer’s primary responsibility will be to perform service and fulfillment activities and meet fiduciary responsibilities and client needs and expectations for Jefferson Bank Trust customers. Trust Officer will also focus on serving the trust and fiduciary needs of clients, as a single point of contact and will be responsible for interfacing with the client as required by the fiduciary relationship assigned.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Administer portfolio of diverse account types, including high net worth clients, and those of a more delicate or complex nature and asset composition. Coordinate with beneficiaries, accountants and attorneys to achieve client and bank objectives.
- May be responsible for researching and anticipating unique legal issues that could impact the Department and advising management.
- Responsible for administering trust accounts, agency and custodial accounts in accordance with the applicable governing instrument, legal and regulatory requirements, bank policies and procedures, and in collaboration with internal team members and external service providers.
- Support in all areas of Department business, including analysis of trust / estate planning documents, limited partnership and LLC agreements, and other agreements, as necessary to assure that fiduciary responsibilities are properly discharged without creating undue risk.
- Coordinate and work closely with investment professionals, specialty asset managers and other external advisors to effectively manage accounts.
- Identify and coordinate with Trust Operations/CPAs the resolution of tax matters arising during the course of account administration, including fiduciary and personal tax issues, and overall tax implications of transactions.
- Maintain broad-based technical knowledge of investments, tax, legal and bank operations.
- Serve as member of the Board Trust Committee for annual fiduciary reviews and as a member of the Trust Administration Committee and Trust Investment Committee.
- Responsible for monitoring client base for opportunities to leverage existing relationships.
- Employ skills and experience in negotiating, delegating, leadership, and business development.
- Uphold a respected external profile; demonstrate an ability to work productively with advisors and centers of influence.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Work Experience
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant law or fiduciary management experience.
Supervisory Experience
- Management experience not required.
Position includes Driving
Education/Skills/Experience
- Undergraduate degree from accredited university.
- Law degree and licensed in good standing in one state, or CTFA, preferred.
Equipment/Machines/Software
- Personal computer with proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, tax and other industry related software.
- Must be able to use PC, Keyboard, telephone, copier, scanner, fax and other electronic devices

Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift, push and pull files up to 15 pounds for storage
- Must be able to bend, stoop, and be mobile within office environment
- Must be able to sit for most of the day in front of a computer
- Must be able to speak and hear customers
- Must be able to see computer screen to read and type on the keyboard
