Essential Functions:
The Trust & Estate Legal Assistant will work in the Bridgewater NJ office supporting the Trust & Estate Practice Group. This position will involve tasks such as assisting attorneys in all aspects of the Trust and Estate practice. Primary responsibilities will be managing calendars and assisting in meeting deadlines and preparing and editing correspondence and documents. Proficiency in Microsoft Word necessary.
Other Duties/Responsibilities:
Drafting and revising correspondence and estate documents.
Manage all incoming mail and calendar.
Assist in meeting deadlines.
Communicate with clients, attorneys and other office personnel.
Opening new files, preparing conflicts checks and drafting engagement letters.
Process monthly billing, time entry and general office responsibilities.
Perform other administrative duties as assigned in support of attorneys.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Minimum 3-5 years of legal administrative assistant experience required.
Proficient with MS Office Suite, including advanced use of MS Word.
Proficiency in the use of document management systems (iManage preferred).
Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational and computer skills.
Attention to detail.
Education and Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years as a legal assistant in a law firm required.
Associate’s degree a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit for prolonged periods.
Ability to operate office equipment (keyboard, copy machine, etc.) for prolonged periods.
Ability to move about to access file cabinets and office machinery.
Ability to lift fifteen pounds or more.
Essential Cognitive Functions:
Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
Ability to read and interpret documents, reports, and other written materials.
Ability to analyze a problem and suggest potential solutions.
Ability to focus on a task despite frequent interruptions.
Working Conditions:
Employees will be working inside a temperature-controlled office building.
