Portfolio Manager- Mission Management and Trust

  • PRIMARY FUNCTION:

    The position serves as a member of the portfolio management team and is responsible for all aspects of investment management for clients. Responsibilities of the portfolio management team can be broadly divided into portfolio management, trading, portfolio administration, portfolio model maintenance, market research and analysis, client service, portfolio accounting and reporting, and regulatory and controls compliance.

     

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES:

    This position must effectively carry out the essential duties of this position in a manner that consistently demonstrates the Core Values of Mission Trust and Notre Dame FCU in a positive manner. The essential duties and responsibilities include the following, however other duties may be assigned as needed.

     

    Models, Research and Market Analysis

    • Perform research and analysis regarding market history, investment alternatives, economics, specific companies, securities, etc.
    • Develop analytics, tools, procedures, and processes to increase the efficiency of processing in the Investment Management Department and that help communicate investment thinking to clients
    • Assist Chief Investment Officer with portfolio decisions and overall market strategies.

     

    Portfolio Management and Trading

    • Achieve client investment objectives through sound execution of investment philosophy and process.
    • Over the long term, achieve better than benchmark returns, as appropriately applied to client portfolios.
    • Properly structure client investment portfolios to meet client investment objectives.
    • Become proficient at using all key portfolio tools and systems.
    • Using a variety of technological and industry-specific tools, attentively monitor securities markets to ensure timely execution of securities trades.
    • Work with clearing firms to ensure accurate and timely settlements.
    • Perform analysis of client portfolios. Make recommendations for risk assumption, strategy, asset allocation to client and to Chief Investment Officer.
    • Work with Trust Administration and Operations to ensure accurate processing and reporting for all accounts.

     

    Clients / Beneficiaries / Marketing / Business Development

    • Serve as a client resource by providing education about the investment markets, securities, etc.
    • Increase client revenue in both individual and institutional portfolios through portfolio growth and new client acquisition.
    • Proactively communicate with clients and other Mission team members.
    • Acquire and continually expand market knowledge, business sophistication, and communication skills needed to be considered expert by clients and prospects.
    • Review client performance reports. Assist in preparing and communicating quarterly performance information to clients.

     

    Systems / Risk Management / Controls

    • Perform all functions in an operationally sound manner, managing risk exposure appropriately.
    • Maintain thorough documentation of portfolio decisions, client communications, trading, etc.
    • Develop portfolio management tools and enhance processes that help reduce risk, increase accuracy, increase digitization in key position functions.
    • Review portfolio system reporting and tools for proper monitoring of holdings and portfolios.

     

    Fiduciary / Compliance / Regulatory

    • Perform duties with accuracy and in compliance with regulatory and control requirements.
    • Work with Trust Administration to accommodate individual client preferences within strategies.
    • Prepare a timely written annual review of all client investment portfolios.
    • Document and report on regulatory related compliance as needed, for Arizona Department of Insurance and Financial Institutions and Securities Exchange Commission.
    • Comply with applicable state and federal regulations.
