The Loan Operations Specialist works to complete any administrative tasks necessary to process consumer, commercial, and agricultural loans and follow up on existing loans for bank customers. This position is responsible for booking loans on the loan system and providing support to all branch loan staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
This position is responsible for the following functions:
Loan Documentation and Reports
• Prepares all documentation for various loan types
• Ensures all documentation is accurate and in compliance with regulations and policies
• Works closely with loan officers and support staff to verify loan orders for accuracy and completeness
• Books new loans, renewals, and modifications
• Performs maintenance functions for current loans on bank's database
• Balances loan general ledger daily and deposit accounts monthly
• Mails daily notices and statements to customers
• Reviews daily and monthly loan reports and follows up as needed
• Provides branch support for questions and account research
• Maintains knowledge of loan policies and procedures
Customer Service
• Demonstrates a commitment to PBT’s customer service philosophy
• Provides courteous service to loan and deposit customers in person, over the phone, and through email communications
Various other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: High School Diploma or equivalent required
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Full knowledge of loan services offered by Peoples Bank and Trust, understanding of all PBT policies and procedures related to loan services provided, knowledge of reports required to maintain and track outstanding loans
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 2 years banking experience preferred
SKILLS/ABILITIES: Attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication skills, self-motivation, self-management, ability to consistently follow through on tasks, problem solving, organized, analytical, interpersonal, customer relationship building, time management, computer literacy, strong ability to multi-task

TALKING: Ability to speak effectively and communicate clearly
AVERAGE HEARING: Ability to hear average conversations at a standard level in an office environment around other customers and bank personnel

FINGER DEXTERITY: The employee is regularly required to use hands to type and maneuver a mouse
AVERAGE VISION: Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus with 20/20 vision (with or without the assistance of eye glasses/contacts)
PHYSICAL STRENGTH: The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds (unassisted) as well as stand, sit, bend, kneel, squat, and walk for long periods of time
WORKING CONDITIONS
General professional office environment with climate control. Adequate lighting. Occasional additional hours outside of regular bank service hours to complete tasks.
