JOB SUMMARY:

The Cannabis Client Manager is responsible for supporting the Cannabis Banking Manager in implementation and management of JBT’s Cannabis Related Business program. This position performs various assignments supporting and developing the Bank’s program for marijuana, industrial hemp, and hemp-derived CBD accounts incorporating industry standard and regulatory requirements/guidance to ensure the Bank’s compliance on a daily basis. The position of the Cannabis Client Manager is required to be fully knowledgeable and skilled in areas of the BSA Department in regards to high risk accounts, specifically Cannabis.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist Cannabis Banking Manager with the Bank’s efforts to comply with laws and regulations in regards to Cannabis including Board of Director reporting
• Maintain a current knowledge of applicable laws and regulations with specific focus on Cannabis for Pennsylvania and surrounding states
• Execute a formal calling plan program for potential Cannabis clients while generating new leads to the program
• Work with the Marketing Department to develop relevant materials needed to support calling plan program
• Onboard new Cannabis clients following appropriate outlined procedures, including on-going site visits as appropriate and account opening 
• Develop referrals, leads, and prospects for the Commercial Relationship Managers, branch network, business solutions, and/or mortgage department
• Assist with ongoing employee and Board of Director training programs, including annual review of compliance with employees and Directors as it pertains to Cannabis Related Businesses
• Open new accounts for Cannabis entities, perform maintenance on existing accounts in current portfolio
• Serve as a Relationship Manager for CRB entities and their principals
• Obtain Digital Expert training to provide support to Cannabis clients for online banking and finance manager troubleshooting
• Maintain a list of high-risk accounts specific to the Bank and monitor activity following bank procedures
• Monitor activity of Cannabis accounts using reports that may identify unusual patterns or deviations from the expected normal activity for that client
• Investigate reports of suspicious activity in conjunction with the BSA Committee 
• Conduct on-site visits for Cannabis clients whose business requires enhanced due diligence
• Retain all appropriate records and documentation for Cannabis entities
• Routinely incorporate compliance (knowledge of laws/regulations) in day-to-day tasks
• Ensure punctual and regular attendance 

Requirements

SKILLS:

• Requires regular daytime travel within PA and surrounding states with an occasional overnight possible
• 2 years of experience in BSA, compliance, lending, or other relevant banking experience
• Have or have the willingness to obtain certifications such as the Certified Cannabis Banking Professional credential (CCBP)
• Superior client interaction skills in relationship building and management
• Broad knowledge of Bank operating policies and procedures 
• Strong knowledge of Bank product and services
• Ability to open new deposit accounts
• Bank Operations (loans and deposits) and item processing
• Ability to open new deposit accounts
• Strong working knowledge of Federal and state banking regulations including Pennsylvania and neighboring states to Pennsylvania
• Analysis experience regarding reports and documentation related to BSA
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills 
• Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to successfully handle confidential materials, exercise discretion, and independent judgment
• Work productively and efficiently without direct supervision
• Ability to multi-task
• Strong computer skills (including Word, Excel, and Outlook)
• Ability to lift approximately 25 pounds
