Tumor Registrar identifies, registers, and maintains records of all cancer patients using tumor registry systems and software. Prepares abstracts and performs coding of clinical patient data related to cancer. Being a Tumor Registrar performs data analysis and provides reports used by researchers, physicians, institutions, and patients. Adheres to all coding and privacy policies, guidelines, and regulations. Additionally, Tumor Registrar may require an associate degree or equivalent. Requires Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) credential. May require Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Tumor Registrar works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job.     Pediatric Hematology Oncology Faculty Position
    UC Davis Children's Hospital

    Solid Tumor Program

    The University of California Davis, School of Medicine is recruiting for a full-time academic pediatric faculty member in the Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor rank (commensurate with credentials) in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor or Clinical X Series. This position will focus on the care of children, adolescents and young adults with solid tumors, and focus on clinical and translational research including (but not limited to) developmental therapeutics, clinical trials, adolescent and young adult cancer and survivorship with appropriate protected time and support. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to collaborate with other investigators in the NCI-designated UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center, UC Davis School of Public Health, UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine (Veterinary Cancer Center), Lawrence Livermore National Laboratories, Center for Biophotonics Science and Technology, and the Institute for Regenerative Cures. Proven excellence in clinical care, teaching and translational research is required.

    The Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology is a growing team currently composed of eight physicians and two nurse practitioners. The division cares for 100-120 new oncology patients per year and participates in the Children's Oncology Group. Services for patients with hemophilia, sickle cell disease, and other hemoglobinopathies are provided in a regional treatment center. The institution also receives support for a 340b Hemophilia Treatment Program. As part of a major UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center expansion, a new Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Clinic and Infusion Center was opened in 2012.

    The UC Davis Children's Hospital is based on the UC Davis Health System campus in Sacramento, California and serves a population of over 1 million children in the Northern California, Central Valley and Western Nevada regions. Sacramento is an easily accessible, family-oriented city in close proximity to the San Francisco Bay area, Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada Mountains, the California coast, and Napa Valley.

    Qualifications
    Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

    * Proven excellence in clinical care, teaching and translational research
    * MD or DO Degree
    * Completed Fellowship in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology
    * Board Certified in Pediatrics
    * Board Certified and/or eligible for Pediatric Hematology / Oncology
    * Eligible for licensure in the State of California
