UNIX Administrator installs, configures, and maintains UNIX operating systems. Analyzes and resolves problems associated with the operating system's servers, hardware, applications, and software. Being an UNIX Administrator detects, diagnoses, and reports UNIX related problems on servers. May require a bachelor's degree in a related area. Additionally, UNIX Administrator typically reports to a supervisor or manager. To be an UNIX Administrator typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other functions may be assigned.
· Responsible to help centralize an accounting perspective on the team.
· Responsible for billing jobs after they have shipped.
· Responsible for support of month end closing of jobs and generating required reports.
· Must be detail oriented.
· Attends and participates in team meetings and technical training classes when requested.
· Submits accurate, timely reports as required.
· Coordinates with various staff for accurate and timely recording of project costs, including time sheets, daily reports, etc.
· Performs work duties in compliance with all company safety policies.
· Gathers and records information to assist with process compliance monitoring.
· Initiates documents for purchase orders, subcontracts, and change orders.
· Coordinates internal project team meetings to ensure accurate transfer of information.
· Validates and reconciles project cost data in business system to the project forecast.
· Communicates effectively with other team members concerning problems, obstacles, issues, and information needs.
· Assists in updating production metrics and backup support for Project Accountant.
· Assists with general office and shop work as needed.
· Possible assistance with project credit approvals and scanning and filing of BOLs.
· Flexibility to work overtime/weekends, as required.
