UNIX Systems Administrator, Sr. jobs in Fargo, ND

UNIX Systems Administrator, Sr. is responsible for the installation, configuration and maintenance of the organization's UNIX operating systems and all related systems or software. Analyzes and resolves problems associated with server hardware/software and applications software and ensures scalability and appropriate integration with other systems. Being a UNIX Systems Administrator, Sr. detects, diagnoses, and reports UNIX related problems on both UNIX server and UNIX desktop systems. Responsible for backup or recovery procedures. Additionally, UNIX Systems Administrator, Sr. typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The UNIX Systems Administrator, Sr. contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.     Maintains record of hardware and software deployments to ensure optimal deployment of resources.

    Assists in licensing compliance reviews.

    Assisting with the deployment of systems, patching, and updating of systems.

    Provide technical support to and training of firm IT admins as needed.

    Provide status updates on projects and participate in team meetings.

    Stay current on new and emerging technologies that may benefit the firm.

    Direct and indirect support to end users firmwide.

    Involvement in the technical planning of the firm’s current and future infrastructure.

    Assist with third-party security assessments and related hardening.

    Requirements

    Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent education and work experience preferred.

    3-5 years of experience in IT support preferred.

    Advanced networking skills preferred include working knowledge of Azure, SonicWALL, and Aruba.

    Working knowledge of SQL Server, hypervisors, backup solutions and automation tools are preferred.

    Ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines.

    Strong problem-solving skills.

    Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.

    Ability to think innovatively.

    Ability to be self-accountable.

    Ability to work both independently and in a team.
