UNIX Systems Administrator, Sr. is responsible for the installation, configuration and maintenance of the organization's UNIX operating systems and all related systems or software. Analyzes and resolves problems associated with server hardware/software and applications software and ensures scalability and appropriate integration with other systems. Being a UNIX Systems Administrator, Sr. detects, diagnoses, and reports UNIX related problems on both UNIX server and UNIX desktop systems. Responsible for backup or recovery procedures. Additionally, UNIX Systems Administrator, Sr. typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The UNIX Systems Administrator, Sr. contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Job Summary:
Maintain current and adequate knowledge of existing Nelson-Jameson, Inc. hardware and software in use to maximize efficiency of our systems and users' utilization of them. Work with VP of IT to maintain and improve the company's primary computer system, PC, and networking equipment. Install and maintain computer hardware/software and intranet/Internet connections.
