    We are hiring a full-time Sr. Systems Administrator to support the Operational Test and Evaluation Force (OPTEVFOR), Cybersecurity Directorate.  In this role, you will have a direct impact on the success of a high-profile DoD program with Congressional mandates for the national security of DoD systems by collaborating on requirements with Cyber Security peers and government counterparts.  This is a substantial opportunity to add to your technical toolkit and advance your career.  The mission is ongoing so please apply today!

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization.
    • Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes.
    • Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues.
    • Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure.
    • Perform regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedure.
    • Maintain Microsoft Domain environments with monthly patching and update cycles.
    • Maintain Red Hat Linux environments with monthly patching and update cycles.
    • Maintain VMware environments with monthly patching and update cycles.
    • Maintain storage archival schedule and processes IAW mission needs.
    • Support the life cycle of hardware and software procurement and deployment.
    • Support the writing and review of technical documents related to the deployment and maintenance of systems.

    Education/Qualifications

    Required:

    • Active U.S. Department of Defense Secret clearance with eligibility to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
    • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field.
      • Equivalent work experience is also acceptable with a High School Diploma.
    • 6 years of systems administration experience.
    • Up-to-date SECNAVM 5239.2 compliance required (e.g. Security or IAT level II equivalence).
    • Experience with scripting and automation tools.
    • Must have experience with the following:
      • VMWare
      • Red Hat Linux
      • Microsoft Windows and Server  
      • Enterprise Storage solutions – NAS/SAN
      • Networking concepts/analysis
      • A solid understanding of Virtualization Concepts
      • Applying security updates via compliance with DISA STIGS and/or IAVMs
    • Ability to troubleshoot network connectivity.
    • Ability to lift equipment up to 50 lbs.

    Preferred:

    • System administration and IT certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other network related fields.
