Ultrasound Technologist operates ultrasonic equipment to produce images of the body's organs and tissues for diagnostic purposes. Performs sonographic examinations to locate, evaluate and record critical functional, pathological, and anatomical data. Being an Ultrasound Technologist records test results, inspects and maintains equipment, and orders supplies when needed. May require an associate degree in a related area. Additionally, Ultrasound Technologist typically requires completion of an accredited program in Medical Sonography. May require registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) and/or certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). May require a state license to practice. Typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. The Ultrasound Technologist occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. As an Ultrasound Technologist, you will assist the Director, Medical Director and Physicist in directing all aspects of care provided by the Medical Imaging Department. What You Will Do In This Role:
* You will be responsible for all aspects of care including but not limited to; procedures, treatments, quality improvement, quality control and other related duties.
* You will produce two-dimensional ultrasonic recordings of internal organs for use by Physician in diagnostic of disease.
* You will study the malfunction of organs by performing the above listed duties.
What Qualifications You Will Need:
* Graduate from an accredited ARRT program or Ultrasound Program is required.
* RDMS or ARRT(S) registered or Registry Eligible or must obtain initial registry within six months of hire date is required.
*90 day grace period for vascular certification.
* Two years experience in a hospital-imaging department is preferred.
* American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification is required.
