Position Description:

The purpose of the Life Skills Coach is to promote clients’ self-advocacy and help youth, currently on probation, gain independence by instructing them on how to complete daily living activities. Some youth may have substance abuse history and/or emotional or behavioral challenges. The Life Skills Coach serves youth 14 and older in a variety of community and home settings.

Responsibilities

The Life Skills Coach adheres to and demonstrates Quality of Life core values, policies, procedures and compliance plan in the performance of all aspects of this position. Youth are served 5-10 hours per week. He or she will:

• Provide training, assistance and/or supervision to youth in the areas of daily living, personal care, financial management, community and social integration and/or job skills development
• Establish a therapeutic relationship with the youth receiving services to ensure effective guidance, direct support and service delivery
• Provide weekly pre-vocational skills and Life Skills training
• Provide support to youth, to ensure objectives are met in accordance with the Service Plan
• Effectively support individuals in achieving their treatment plan objectives
• Provide input and contribution to the formulation and development of individual treatment plans and their review
• Provide timely submission of all documentation
• Performs additional duties as assigned by supervisory personnel and based on specific site or individual requirements

Qualifications

• Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP)
• One or more years of applicable experience
• Exceptional organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
• Outstanding interpersonal and human relations skills
• Relationships with local community organization a plus
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
