Overview

Baker, Foster, & Potter, an established family law and criminal defense law firm, is seeking an experienced family law attorney who shares our commitment to serving clients in our Elizabethton office. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years experience practicing family law; however we are open to new attorneys. Be a person with a strong work ethic who can manage a demanding workload, multiple tasks, and relationships successfully using our internal systems and processes. Cases handled will include, but not be limited to, divorces, modification of child support, modification of parenting plans, dependency and neglect, adoptions, civil contempt, emergency custody, establishing paternity, termination of parental rights, and petitions for custody.

Responsibilities and Duties

Attorney to work closely with staff to meet client communication needs in a timely manner while zealously advocating for the client’s best interests. Regular activities include:

• Timely and professional communication with clients via telephone, email and in-person,
• Communicate with office staff to ensure work efficiency,
• Draft documents and correspondence to clients, opposing counsel, and the Court,
• Draft discovery requests, pleadings, and notices,
• Review work for errors,
• Adhere to firm policies and procedures,
• Utilize firm software,
• Trial preparation,
• Court hearings,
• Other tasks as necessary.

Professional Qualifications

• 2 years of experience as a Family Law attorney (desired)
• Applicant must possess a Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school, be duly licensed and authorized to practice las as an attorney under the laws of Tennessee and be an active member of the bar and in good standing.

Job Type: Full-time salaried

Salary: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year based on experience

Bonus Opportunities: Commissions, fee splitting, and additional bonus opportunities

Office Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

License/Certification:

• Tennessee Bar License (Required)
