    Summary:

     

    This position, with the support of the VP of Product Management, is responsible for helping shape the future of CCMSI’s underwriting system products to its internal users for our clients.    This position will create a roadmap of planned future changes and partner with engineering, business analysts and underwriting business teams to bring product roadmap features to life.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Represent the interests of all relevant stakeholders and work with VP of Product Management to stakeholders to analyze, develop and document complex business processes.
  • Conduct needs assessment in a systematic process used to identify and prioritize the needs of the property and casualty underwriters to improve the system and meet goals. 
  • Collect comprehensive data that ensures all aspects of the users’ needs are gathered, organize focus groups to document relevant information.
  • Analyze data collected to identify common themes, patterns, and gaps and use this analysis to determine priority areas where interventions or improvements are needed.
  • Develop and document business requirements and collaborate with stakeholders and IT department to ensure successful interpretation of business requirements to user stories.
  • Along with the VP of Product Management, correctly prioritize product enhancements across the sprints and maintain a quarterly roadmap. Coordinate system releases.
  • Participate in standups, backlog grooming sessions, and supporting backlog development.
  • Analyze and interpret various bureaus (ISO, AAIS, NCCI, and independent bureaus) and/or company proprietary rules, rates and forms to translate into technical specifications for IT for policy system implementation.
  • Along with the VP of Product Management, recommend system or procedural improvements based on various bureau or company proprietary rules to support underwriting efficiencies.
  • Be subject matter expert of the underwriting application, including assisting with development of training materials as well as delivery of content to end users.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Individual must be detail oriented and a self-starter with strong organizational abilities. Discretion and confidentiality a must.

     

    Reliable, predictable attendance within client service hours for the performance of this position.  Extensive travel required to attend conferences and clients/sales presentations.

     

    Responsive to internal client needs.

     

    Clearly communicate verbally and/or in writing both internally and externally.

     

    Excellent problem solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills.

     

    Ability to function at a high level of effectiveness and independence without daily interaction with management.

      

    Travel

    Position requires travel that varies based on sales and company performance.

     

    Education and/or Experience   

    Graduate Degree in Computer Science, business or equivalent work-related experience of seven (7) years.

    Solid understanding of ISO, AAIS, NCCI and independent bureau products.

    Extensive understanding of carrier reporting requirements and policy requirements.

    Solid understanding of property and casualty rates, rules and forms, and various pricing programs.

    Minimum 3 years of experience working with Agile frameworks.

    Knowledge of Large Deductible and Retrospective Programs a plus.

    Knowledge of claims needs from policies a plus.

    Spanish speaking a plus.
