Responsibilities

We have an entry level opportunity for an Underwriting Assistant to join our Berkley Accident and Health team!  You will provide set-up and administration assistance to our underwriting team. Attention to detail and organizational skills are critical, as this position sets up and tracks all underwriting folders with account information.

This role will be based in our Hamilton, NJ office

Key functions include but are not limited to:

• Set up folders in our shared drive for all information received for new submissions
• Run census in Excel spreadsheet for each submission
• Log submissions into our underwriting system including benefits, reinsurance terms, and census information
• Communicate between Sales Reps and Underwriters to ensure all information is complete and accurate

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associates Degree
• Recent college grads welcome to apply; or 1-2 years general office experience
• Must be highly organized, with strong attention to detail
• Must have Word/Excel experience
• Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure
• Team oriented
