Job Summary:
The primary duty of this position is to manage Route Service Representatives. This position supervises between 5 and 35 employees. This position interviews, hires, schedules, manages, assigns day-to-day work, evaluates performance, disciplines, terminates (if necessary), and otherwise is responsible for managing the Route Service Representatives. Through management of Route Service Representatives, the Route Supervisor builds and maintains customer relationships, resolves problems, and maintains the fleet to ensure excellent customer service.

The primary duty of this position is management. This position oversees the activities of Route Service Representatives, and serves a critical role in their hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluation and management, task assignment, discipline, and if necessary, recommending and communicating their termination. Route Supervisors should be prepared to manage an entire team of Route Service Representatives (and may also supervise Scale Operators and Vehicle Loaders) that reports directly to them.

Travel Required:
The Route Supervisor works in an office environment within the service center, with some auto travel to customer locations. Travel is expected to take up 10% of work time, typically requiring riding with Route Service Representatives to evaluate work practices, vehicle performance, and meeting with customers. Employees are responsible for creating and submitting expense reports each week for expenditures incurred during travel.
Physical Requirements:
This position works predominantly within an office environment. The position requires considerable sitting, standing, and walking. Physical demands can involve lifting and handling linens (clean and soiled) and textile products of up to 50-70 pounds.
Work Environment:
This position exists primarily within the plant environment, with periodic office work. The plant environment can be loud, has wet areas, chemicals, and other hazards. The position requires the ability to communicate in person, telephonically and via email.
