Mike's Upholstery and Custom Paint is a leading automotive service provider dedicated to delivering exceptional craftsmanship and customer satisfaction. We specialize in automotive upholstery, headliner repairs, convertible top installations, and comprehensive vehicle interior enhancements. We also preform body work and paint services, and specialize in custom aesthetics. Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Automotive Upholsterer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for automotive craftsmanship and possess expertise in upholstery, leather work, headliner repairs, convertible top installations, and various interior fabrication skills. The ideal candidate will also be happy to learn, and posses a think outside of the box mindset. The Automotive Upholsterer will be responsible for providing high-quality workmanship while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities:

• Perform upholstery repairs and replacements on various vehicle components including seats, door panels, and consoles.
• Remove and repair headliners with precision and attention to detail.
• Install convertible tops according to manufacturer specifications, ensuring proper fit and functionality.
• Work with a variety of materials, including leather, vinyl, fabric, and foam.
• Utilize specialized tools and equipment to complete upholstery and interior work efficiently.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to grasp a deep understanding of each jobs requirements and needs
• Identify any underlying issues that may require repair and bring it to the attention of the other staff memebers
• Uphold company policies and procedures, including safety protocols and quality standards.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as an automotive upholsterer or similar role.
• Expertise in upholstery techniques and materials.
• Proficiency in repairing and replacing headliners.
• Experience installing convertible tops is highly desirable.
• Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication.
• Commitment to safety and quality standards.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work environments.
• Valid driver's license.

The compensation for this position will be directly discussed between you and the owner of the company. It's your choice to have an hourly rate, or a commision rate, but each of which will consider your experience, speed, quality of work, craftsmanship, and overall work ethic to determine your rate of pay. This will be fairly discussed and agreed upon between the employee and the owner at time of hire. This position is paid weekly, and you are required to keep track of the work you complete throughout the week.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $12.50 - $25.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• No nights

Supplemental pay types:

• Commission pay
