    A great opportunity to live and work at a field station (uwnps.org) in Grand Teton National Park for the summer. Applicants should be comfortable working odd hours, living in a remote area, and interacting with members of the public. Housing is provided. Primary responsibilities are tasks that support the field station and researchers– cleaning, checking in visitors, helping with public events, being on-call, etc. There is also support for summer staff members to pursue projects of their own that will contribute to the station. Want research experience? Volunteer with different researchers, or work on a specific project. Other interests? Our facilities present a unique challenge for repair or engineering, create a public work of art, investigate a period of the station’s history, etc. The ideal person will be a fully integrated part of the station community –excited to learn, motivated, kind, hard-working.     JOB TITLE:   

    UW-NPS Summer Staff 

    JOB PURPOSE:   

    Provide support for the UW-NPS Research Station during the summer season.  

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

    Daily cleaning, pest control, check in and check out station guests, help with seminars and special events (set up, tear down, audio visual), purchase supplies in Jackson, meetings with station manager, on-call days for check ins, trash disposal, errands, and a variety of other tasks as needed.

    SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:  

    This role allows for the pursuit of individual projects or interests that contribute to the station’s goals.

    REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY: 

    This position provides vital support to the Research Station and requires the successful candidate be available to work at the Research Station.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  

    Education: Undergraduate degree or current undergraduate student 

    Experience: Some experience with cleaning. A demonstrated interest in research station activities. 

    Other Requirements: 

    • Must be comfortable living in a remote location in a national park with wildlife. 
    • Must be willing to be vaccinated for rabies.  
    • Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) that is compliant with the University Vehicle Use Policy
