    Umpqua Health is actively seeking a THW Liaison to join our team. This role involves active participation in the THW (Traditional Health Worker) Commission and Subcommittees, contributing to the development and implementation of processes and policies at all levels. The position requires convening a THW Workforce Advisory Committee at the CCO level, fostering bi-directional communication, and collaboration with the THW workforce in the service area.

    Your Impact:
    • Serve as the main point of contact with THWs, community-based organizations, stakeholders, and internal departments regarding THW program updates and initiatives.
    • Guide the development of Umpqua Health deliverables related to THW integration, including integration and utilization plans, reports, and payment models.
    • Collaborate across departments to advocate for THW integration and promote a culture of health equity within Umpqua Health.
    • Develop and implement THW policies and standard operating procedures in alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
    • Collaborate with internal THWs and relevant departments to expand access to and education regarding THW services within the community.
    • Provide technical assistance to THWs regarding billing, certification, continuing education, and other relevant topics.
    • Participate in THW Commission and Subcommittees to contribute to statewide initiatives and share best practices.
    • Convene a THW Workforce Advisory Committee at the organizational level to facilitate communication, collaboration, and bi-directional learning with THWs.
    • Include THWs at all levels of process and policy development, ensuring their perspectives are represented and valued.
    • Partner with THW worker type-specific professional associations and liaisons from other CCOs to promote collaboration and knowledge-sharing.
    • Facilitate education sessions for health systems on THW core roles, skills, and the importance of integrating the THW paradigm into organizational culture.
    • Coordinate THW-health system learning collaboratives on topics such as social determinants of health, health equity, and anti-oppression.
    • Provide internal communication and updates about THWs and THW integration within Umpqua Health to ensure transparency and alignment.
    • Educate Umpqua Health provider network about promising THW integration practices and opportunities for collaboration.
    • Support and advise THW evaluation efforts, aligning measures with national and international best practices and involving THWs in the evaluation process.
    • Promote adoption of sustainable Medicaid reimbursement processes for THWs across various settings within Umpqua Health.
    • Support the development and adoption of alternative payment methodologies for THWs and other providers in non-traditional service environments.
    • Perform other duties and support deliverables as assigned by the organization.


    Your Credentials:
    • High school diploma or equivalent required. Valid THW certification or ability to obtain certification within 6 months of hire required.
    • Minimum two years of work experience working as a THW or related role, and intimate knowledge of THW workforce and challenges THW workforces face. Demonstrated commitment to addressing THW workforce development issues at a systems level.
    • Demonstrated understanding of THW roles across a variety of settings, such as health systems, social services, substance use disorder treatment, mental health, community-based organizations. Strong understanding of health systems.
    • Skilled in developing and implementing community partnerships, implementing new workflows and strategies and skilled in developing cross-sectoral partnerships. Skilled in facilitating meetings and discussions with participants from diverse backgrounds.
    • The ability to communicate effectively in multiple languages would be highly advantageous.
    • Valid driver's license is required, dependable transportation and insurance.
