Determines policies and procedures that incorporate best practices and ensure effective utilization reviews. Being a Utilization Management Director manages and monitors both concurrent reviews to ensure that the patient is getting the right care in a timely and cost-effective way and retrospective reviews after treatment has been completed. Provides analysis and reports of significant utilization trends, patterns, and impacts to resources. Additionally, Utilization Management Director consults with physicians and other professionals to develop improved utilization of effective and appropriate services. Requires a master's degree. With a general acute-care facility at the core, this Health System affiliated Medical Center provides Emergency Care, Surgical Care, a variety of Medical Clinics, Ancillary Services, and Obstetrics, just to name a few. The Quality Management Director will be responsible for overseeing and directing quality and risk management programs for the entire Health System. The Director of Quality will prepare for survey readiness, design hospital performance improvement measures, educate incoming staff on quality assurance guidelines, and utilize hospital resources to achieve and maintain optimal standards of patient care.
The Quality Management Director will work closely with the Chief Nursing Officer and Chief Executive Officer to ensure that quality assurance goals are met, and will continually collaborate with hospital leadership to devise quality improvement plans.
