  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include but are not limited to the following, as additional duties and responsibilities may be

    assigned.

    • Operate mini-bus, van/shuttle, plow truck, sander and/or snow blower, as required.
    • Drives vehicle from base station to destination and back, according to assigned schedule, complying with all State Department of Motor Vehicles laws, adjusting to driving conditions, and using seatbelts at all times.
    • Maintain a courteous and professional relationship with all customers, vendors, subordinates, co-workers and managers. “Treat others as you would want to be treated.”
    • Maintain a clean, neat, professional appearance at all times. While on the job, display identification badge at all times, and wear the designated uniform, if required.
    • Maintain punctual and regular attendance according to scheduled work time, accurately recording time, according to payroll guidelines.
    • Handle and stow all customer luggage in a proper and safe manner.
    • Assist disabled passengers into and out of vehicle as needed. Operate disabled lift and secure wheelchair in restraints, if applicable.
    • Inspect vehicle at beginning and end of shift for damage, such as dents, scratches, broken lights or windows, etc.
    • Inspect vehicle prior to driving for air in tires, fluids, lights (interior and exterior), properly functioning radio, missing or broken items inside or outside vehicle, debris, or any mechanical issues.
    • Record and report any damage in the vehicle log and to immediate supervisor.
    • Operate pager, radio, or similar device to communicate with base station or other vehicles. (No personal conversations allowed).
    • Maintain clean interior of vehicle throughout shift, such as trash and debris removal, stocking coffee, water, juice, soda pop, newspapers, etc., as needed.
    • Maintain clean exterior of vehicle and service with fuel, lubricants and accessories, as needed, and at end of each shift.
    • Maintain accurate records of trips, completing daily reports or log sheets, as required.


    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    This job has no supervisory responsibilities.


    Qualifications:

    Education/Experience:

    One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Licenses:

    Valid state-issued driver’s license and proof of insurance card. (Must be able to pass a company driving skills test.)

    Language Skills:

    Able to read, write and comprehend instructions, correspondence and memos. Able to effectively communicate in one-on-one and small group situations.

    Mathematical Skills:

    Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide, using whole numbers.

    Reasoning Ability:

    Able to apply common sense when performing duties and following written and oral instructions.

    Must be able to transfer/relocate to another facility/location without notice at any time. This position may require travel between Canada and the USA when required for business reasons.
