The Parking Services Customer Service Representative will work as part of a team that is responsible for parking under the jurisdiction of the University of North Dakota. The purpose of the position is to provide exemplary customer service to all UND students, staff, faculty, and customers.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Customer Service, Permit Sales and Payment Processing
• Assist customers with parking inquiries or concerns via the phone, email, or in person while displaying a positive and professional attitude.
• Assist customers who have received parking citations through researching, explaining, educating, and answering billing questions relating lo parking.
• Ask questions to effectively diagnose customer needs.
• Effectively communicate parking rules and regulations, parking permit purchase instructions, and appropriate parking for each permit zone to customers via the phone, email, or in person.
• Assist customers with meter and visitor pay lot malfunctions
• Support the positive workplace culture of Parking Services by demonstrating the professional conduct and values expected of all employees.
• Use active listening and customer service skills to diffuse various situations. Escalating to management when necessary, in accordance with established procedures.
• Responsible for assigning and selling the proper parking permits to the UND community, contractors, and guests.
• Process payments received in office and by mail.
• Reconcile personal drawer daily, solving any reconciliation issues and accurately deposit of departmental funds in a timely manner.
• Serve as an Event Coordinator
• Work events with part time staff.
• Some events would require collection of parking event fees, others may be directing vehicles in and out of a parking lot.
• Help process department/external organization event requests
• Back-Up to Administrative Duties and Requests

Required Competencies

• Strong verbal and non verbal communication skills
• Ability to stay calm, cool, and collected
• Strong attention to detail
• Complete tasks in a timely manner
• Excellent business writing skills

Minimum Requirements

• HS diploma or GED equivalent
• 3 years customer service experience
• 1 year experience with cash handling, cash management system, or till
• Experience with MS office products
• Valid Drivers license
• Successful completion of criminal history records check.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with PeopleSoft HRMS/HCM
• Experience with emails and answering phone lines

Minimum Hiring Salary/Position Classification

$ 32,000 / year; non-exempt; benefited; full-time position

Work Schedule

Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm with flexible summer scheduling and hours available
