    Coarc considers our bus drivers an important part of our company. As a bus driver you will transport people with disabilities to and from day habilitation programs.


    This is a Non-Exempt position: Job number: TRAN-VD

    30 hours per week: $15.00 hour.

    Monday Friday: 6 a.m. to latest route returns 10:30 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. to latest route return 5:45 p.m.

    General Purpose of Job

    Insure in the safe, flexible, and cost-effective operation of Coarc's vehicles to meet the needs of the people Coarc supports.

    Perform in a manner that promotes cooperation with others, e.g consistently demonstrate positive attitude, remain open and adaptable to change, do what you say you will do and focus on [productivity not activity.


    Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

    • Ensure Coarc's transportation equipment is operated and maintained safely.
    • Operate your vehicle at all times in compliance with all DOT traffic regulations. Perform all duties in a manner that is [productive, positive, cooperative, flexible, and promotes the goals of the department and agency.
    • Ensure that all identified participants are transported safely to and from agency programs as needed. Ensures that all agency safety protocols such as seat belting and or tie down have been completed each time a passenger is picked up.
    • Provide transportation to other passengers as called upon.
    • Maintain appropriate decorum on your run to ensure the safety of all passengers.
    • Report all accidents, delays, incidents or other agency paperwork in a timely and adequate fashion. Submit all required documentation in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
    • Maintains the cleanliness of the vehicle as necessary.
    • Regulate heating, lighting, and ventilation equipment of the vehicle for the comfort of the passengers.
    • Assist passengers with boarding or leaving the vehicle as necessary.
    • Help ensure that all equipment operated by the department are inspected and maintained in safe working order at all times. Perform routine inspection prior to operation, at the end of each route, and as required. Submit daily paperwork.
    • Maintain adequate fuel and other fluids in your equipment to ensure the completion of your run.
    • Perform minor maintenance of equipment as directed.
    • Be available to drive all Coarc routes as needed.
    • Participate in in-house and outside trainings as required. Maintain all required certifications on an annual basis.


    The requirements of this position

    • Valid Driver's license
    • High School diploma or GED (TASC)
    • Ability to be certified in all required trainings
    • Occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds, occasionally up to 100 lbs
    • Be able to meet the physical requirements of the position: e.g. bend, reach, stand, walk, smell, etc..
