Vascular Technician performs ultrasound examinations of the cerebral, peripheral, and abdominal vessels to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disorders affecting circulation. Records and maintains test data and prepares preliminary interpretations of test results. Being a Vascular Technician may perform therapeutic procedures such as pseudoaneurysm compression. Requires an associate degree in medical sonography or equivalent. Additionally, Vascular Technician may require the Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) credential. Typically reports to a physician or manager. Vascular Technician's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Overview
This role is generally responsible for providing clinically relevant information to assist the physician with the diagnosis and treatment of vascular patients. All activities should be performed consistent with the Registered Vascular Technologist’s education and training, and in accordance with facility policies and procedures and applicable professional standards.
This role will report to the Technical Director of Ultrasound for clinical matters and to the Office Manager for operational matters.
The role is non-exempt.
