Vascular Technician performs ultrasound examinations of the cerebral, peripheral, and abdominal vessels to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disorders affecting circulation. Records and maintains test data and prepares preliminary interpretations of test results. Being a Vascular Technician may perform therapeutic procedures such as pseudoaneurysm compression. Requires an associate degree in medical sonography or equivalent. Additionally, Vascular Technician may require the Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) credential. Typically reports to a physician or manager. Vascular Technician's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Starting pay for this position is $35.33 - $46.24; base pay offered may increase based on experience, skills and internal equity.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Vascular Technologist follows established policies and procedures, which includes performing and recording vascular diagnostic tests. They obtain information about normal and abnormal anatomy used to diagnose disease and ensure exams are of acceptable quality. They demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care that is appropriate to the ages of the patients served.
