Vascular Technician performs ultrasound examinations of the cerebral, peripheral, and abdominal vessels to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disorders affecting circulation. Records and maintains test data and prepares preliminary interpretations of test results. Being a Vascular Technician may perform therapeutic procedures such as pseudoaneurysm compression. Requires an associate degree in medical sonography or equivalent. Additionally, Vascular Technician may require the Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) credential. Typically reports to a physician or manager. Vascular Technician's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Duties:
- Perform diagnostic vascular procedures using sonography and other imaging modalities.
- Confirm orders and perform appropriate testing.
- Work directly with providers in a professional manner.
- Write detailed preliminary reports for physician interpretation.
- Utilize medical terminology to accurately document and communicate findings.
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations to assess vascular conditions and identify abnormalities.
- Apply knowledge of anatomy and physiology to interpret imaging results and provide accurate diagnoses.
Qualifications:
- Must have completed an accredited Vascular Technology program.
- Certification as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) is required.
- Proficient in performing vascular sonography and interpreting imaging results.
-Must be reliable and a team player.
- New graduates welcome to apply.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology for effective communication with healthcare professionals.
- Excellent knowledge of human anatomy and physiology as it relates to vascular conditions.
Prefer:
-Two years experience as a vascular sonographer.
