VAULT TELLER monitors and records assets in the vault according to company and government standards and regulations. Verifies incoming deposits, counts currency, and balances the vault. Being a VAULT TELLER supplies other internal units with coin and currency. Places orders and fulfills requests to the Federal Reserve Bank to maintain required cash levels. Additionally, VAULT TELLER requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The VAULT TELLER works under moderate supervision. PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:
Ensure branch has adequate cash for operations. Supervises and provides technical assistance to all Teller staff. Able to problem solve and trouble shoot issues as they arise. Maintain knowledge of credit union’s products and services for referrals. Responsible for the daily operations of the ATM/s assigned to location.

Contacts: Frequent contact with employees, members and vendors face to face and on the phone. Considerable tact and diplomacy are necessary to deal with difficult member issues.

EDUCATION
High school Diploma/GED is required
EXPERIENCE
Incumbent must have minimum of two (2) years prior experience in financial institution in teller area OR one (1) year in financial teller area and one (1) year comparable experience in decision making and cash handling.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Position involves wrist / hand manipulation; restriction to workstation for extended periods of time; ability to lift to 50lbs.; ability to bend stoop and reach overhead. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision for frequent viewing of computer monitor and review of documents. May be required to stand for extended periods of time. Communication abilities required by this job includes clarity in speech and hearing for effective staff/member interaction. Must be able to drive a vehicle and have a valid Texas driver’s license. Must be flexible and willing to travel or relocate to different branches, as scheduled, or needed.
