Vehicle Maintenance Manager assists with the acquisition, operations, and maintenance of the organization's fleet of motor vehicles. Assigns vehicles and drivers, prepares schedules, and oversees dispatch operations. Being a Vehicle Maintenance Manager evaluates, purchases, leases, and disposes of vehicles to maintain the fleet. Develops and maintains vendor and service provider relationships for fuel, maintenance, and other essential services. Additionally, Vehicle Maintenance Manager develops and implements safety, preventive maintenance, and accident prevention programs. Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and fleet-specific regulations, licensing, registration, and reporting requirements. May administer insurance policy coverage, negotiates agreements, and participate in claim resolution. Manages the fleet expense reporting and budgets. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Vehicle Maintenance Manager supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Vehicle Maintenance Manager typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Job Goal: Keeps the district's school buildings in such a state of operating excellence that they present no problems or interruptions to the educational program.
Employment Terms: 12 Months, 8 hours per days exclusive of a lunch
Occasionally, special arrangements may be made with the
supervisor if the situation warrants. Supervisor approval is required
if the contract day varies.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

In the event school is cancelled due to winter precipitation, restore safe parking lots, walkways, steps, etc. prior to classes resuming. This includes plowing, shoveling, de-icing and sanding.
Summer:
During summer break, conduct seasonal and annual maintenance rather than daily tasks.
