JOB PURPOSE:

The full-time Cleaner is responsible for the cleanliness and physical attractiveness of all DTA-owned or leased buses and service vehicles. In addition, the Cleaner is responsible for the necessary cleaning and light maintenance of all DTA facilities and maintenance of grounds.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Cleans the interiors of all DTA-owned or leases buses and service vehicles.

• Washes and cleans interior windows, seats, dashboards, walls, ceilings and floor of buses and service vehicles-especially, high-touchpoints.
• Checks appearance of buses so that they are acceptable for the next day's use.
• Cleans and dusts seats, mirrors, windshields and driver's area between periodic full cleaning of entire bus interior.

Cleaning and light maintenance of all DTA facilities and perform grounds work when required.

• Washes and cleans floors, walls and windows as instructed.
• Waxes floors when necessary.
• Grounds work including but not limited to: grass cutting, snow shoveling, grounds pick up and snow blowing.
• Light maintenance work as directed by the Director of Maintenance.

Performs other duties of a similar nature as may be required.

The performance of the major job functions for this position requires the incumbent to be present at their work setting. Regular, dependable attendance is necessary for the performance of the job duties.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must possess ability to complete job tasks as assigned.
• Must pass DTA pre-employment physical.
• Must possess valid Driver's License with sufficient motor vehicle record.
  

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to stand and bend for extended period of time.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs., carry 35 lbs., utilize tools, reach, stoop, crawl, bend, kneel, lie on the floor, climb ladders and stairs, push equipment, turn knobs and screws and extend arms.
• Must have manual dexterity to operate cleaning and maintenance related equipment
