Vendor Quality Control Analyst jobs in Detroit, MI

Vendor Quality Control Analyst evaluates vendor operations, products, and services for compliance with government and company quality standards. Conducts audits and testing of products, materials, and processes to measure effectiveness and compliance with company expectations. Being a Vendor Quality Control Analyst analyzes and monitors metrics and KPIs to suggest improvement initiatives. Works with vendors and identifies alternative vendors to mitigate risks and resolve problems. Additionally, Vendor Quality Control Analyst assists with drafting and negotiating service-level agreements to ensure performance/quality metrics, responsibilities, expectations, and penalties are adequately defined. Prepares reports and updates on vendor status and quality. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Vendor Quality Control Analyst occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     POSITION SUMMARY
    The Vendor Maintenance Analyst will support Alta Equipment by monitoring and analyzing master data, key data, and master relationship data within the organization.
    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
    • Responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of vendor master data.
    • Conducts data cleansing to rid the system of old, unused data, or duplicate data.
    • Responsible for understanding the end-to-end processes for maintaining vendor master data.
    • Defines, designs, and builds data quality controls to proactively identify data integrity issues.
    • Updates system with new vendor additions and changes.
    • Obtains the appropriate documentation for each vendor such as their company W-9 / W-8 and Certificate of Insurance.
    • Manage and edit tax exempt forms and credit applications when applicable.
    • Hybrid schedule (three days in office and two days remote, 8am-5pm).
    POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

    Skills and Abilities:
    • Establishes good working relationships with business owners and supporting the governance structure to ensure on-going data accuracy and completeness.
    • Good skills in data administration, design, and architecture.
    • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Process improvement skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Ability to work under pressure due to high priority requests.
    • Accuracy, attention to detail, and organization are must.
    • Excellent and professional communication skills with business partners and internal team members.
    Knowledge: Acquired through education, certifications, training, experience.
    • Proficiency in MS Office Applications required, (especially Excel)
    Level of Experience:
    • Three or more years of experience in data analysis or master data.
    • Three or more years of experience with MS Office Applications and Excel required.
    Level of Education:
    • High School Diploma
    Travel:
    • Travel not required.
    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
    The core tasks, duties, and responsibilities that must be performed on the job:
    • Ensures quality of master data in key systems, as well as development and documentation of processes with other functional data owners to support ongoing maintenance and data integrity.
    • Identifies areas for data quality improvements and helps to resolve data quality problems through the appropriate choice of error detection and correction, process control and improvement, or process design strategies.
    • In collaboration with subject matter experts and data stewards, defines and implements data strategy, policies, controls / SOX controls, and programs to ensure Alta’s data is accurate, complete, secure, and reliable.
    • Aids in resolving data quality problems through the appropriate choice of error detection and correction, process control and improvement, or process design strategies collaborating with subject matter experts (SMEs).
    • Manages, analyzes, and resolves data initiative issues and manages revisions needed to best meet internal and customer requirements while adhering to published data standards.
