Vendor Quality Control Analyst evaluates vendor operations, products, and services for compliance with government and company quality standards. Conducts audits and testing of products, materials, and processes to measure effectiveness and compliance with company expectations. Being a Vendor Quality Control Analyst analyzes and monitors metrics and KPIs to suggest improvement initiatives. Works with vendors and identifies alternative vendors to mitigate risks and resolve problems. Additionally, Vendor Quality Control Analyst assists with drafting and negotiating service-level agreements to ensure performance/quality metrics, responsibilities, expectations, and penalties are adequately defined. Prepares reports and updates on vendor status and quality. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Vendor Quality Control Analyst occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. EXPERIENCE:
Three years working experience in plastics industry and/or lab environment is preferred. Previous ISO experience also preferred, but not a requirement.
EDUCATION:
High school diploma is a minimum requirement. Any technical education, background, or degree is a plus.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Good oral and written communication and computer aptitude/skills, any testing equipment experience is a plus.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Manufacturing and warehouse conditions when retrieving samples and retains and working with the Operations department on quality-related matters. Standard lab conditions. Computer, testing equipment, and cutting tools are part of the daily environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Regularly required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. Required to pick up containers of product samples and product retains, approximately 40 lbs maximum and transporting them from the manufacturing floor to the internal labs via stairs when required.
