Vendor Quality Control Analyst jobs in Paramus, NJ

EXPERIENCE:

Three years working experience in plastics industry and/or lab environment is preferred. Previous ISO experience also preferred, but not a requirement.

EDUCATION:

High school diploma is a minimum requirement. Any technical education, background, or degree is a plus.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Good oral and written communication and computer aptitude/skills, any testing equipment experience is a plus.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Manufacturing and warehouse conditions when retrieving samples and retains and working with the Operations department on quality-related matters. Standard lab conditions. Computer, testing equipment, and cutting tools are part of the daily environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Regularly required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. Required to pick up containers of product samples and product retains, approximately 40 lbs maximum and transporting them from the manufacturing floor to the internal labs via stairs when required.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

PRIMARY:

• Follows company policies, procedures, and work instructions to ensure consistency with all work performed.
• Performs Quality Checks both on the Floor and in the Labs
• Performs review of manufacturing orders, product specifications, bills of material, and SOC’s to understand product requirements and customer needs. Reviews and corrects errors and omissions in these documents
• Reviews operator’s QC paperwork for accuracy and completeness
• Reports issues to the operators, lead operators, and/or shift supervisors immediately
• Helps assure that any quality failures are completely removed from the production stream
• Communicates with internal customers on quality related activities, and always strives to improve the quality of the communication.
• Knows and follows work instructions, and procedures
• MRB creation and follow up

ADDITIONAL:

• Responds to order/blend change situations for the purpose of verifying that setup product conforms to requirements
• Attends daily meetings in Process Engineering
• Reports daily activities, findings, and follow up
• Understands the purpose and has an excellent command of mechanical and physical property tests. Performs and conducts tests on designated equipment.
• Understands the calibration procedures and system.
• Participates in the training of new operators and personnel in like positions
• Performs any other duties assigned by the Process Engineering Manager, Senior Process Specialist, and/or the Director of Operations.
