POSITION: Quality Control Technician 

STATUS:  Non-Exempt (hourly)

REPORTS TO:  Quality Manager                                    

DIRECT REPORTS: None    

LOCATION:  Waco, TX

POSITION SUMMARY:
Inspects materials, parts, and components, work in process, and finished trailers for conformance to specifications by performing the following duties.
 

FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Examines and inspects materials, parts, subassemblies, and finished products.    
• Compares product work orders against the finished products to ensure proper assembly and build.
• Verifies specified product requirements relative to both functional and cosmetic standards.
• Rejects incorrect, substandard materials and workmanship. 
• Interprets engineering drawings and diagrams and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality standards.
• Test the proper functionality of electrical and mechanical components.
• Operates diagnostic equipment needed to perform the job
• Utilizes quality system to upload reports.
• Performs related duties as needed by supervisor.

Responsibilities/Measurements:

• Accuracy of inspection comparing the finished product to work order
• Input data accurately via iPad to multiple document sources

Knowledge, Mental Effort, and Communication Requirements:

• High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• 2 or more years of previous experience in a quality role, preferably in a manufacturing or construction environment.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to read and interpret tape measure.
• Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving variables in standard situations.
• Above average interpersonal skills with the ability to resolve conflict amicably.
• Ability to communicate issues verbally and in written form.
• Above average time pressure of decision making.

Physical Requirements:

Must have the ability to walk and climb in, onto, and around trailer structures to inspect properly visually.
