Your responsibilities will include assisting veterinarians during examinations and surgeries, performing laboratory tests, administering medications, and providing general animal care. Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians with examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures
- Perform laboratory tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and microbiology
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian
- Prepare animals for surgery and monitor their anesthesia during procedures
- Take and develop X-rays
- Provide post-operative care and monitor patients during recovery
- Maintain accurate medical records for all patients
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and answer any questions or concerns
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Experience:
- Previous experience working as a Veterinary Technician is preferred
- Knowledge of animal care practices and procedures
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment and techniques
- Proficiency in animal restraint techniques
- Understanding of aseptic technique for surgical procedures
- Experience with equine or large animal care is a plus
- Basic knowledge of animal physiology and behavior
- Familiarity with pet grooming techniques is beneficial
