Tehachapi Veterinary Hospital is hiring a Veterinary Assistant to join our team!

Out hospital offers high quality, transparent care for our patients and clients. As an assistant, you'll serve as a critical bridge for patient care and client communication.

Job Duties include:

• Assist doctors and techs with all aspects of patient care and handling
• Maintain hospital standards and cleanliness
• Client communication
• Ability to pay close attention to detail and provide accurate information to staff and clients
• Demonstrates warmth, courtesy, and professionalism in all client interactions
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and remain composed under pressure
• Assess urgency and severity of cases, effectively prioritizing incoming requests based on criticality
• Ability to frequently lift, move and handle patients.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, lift, push, pull, etc..
    
• Complete diagnostic procedures as needed

Required Skills:

• Compassion for animals and people
• Eagerness to learn
• Strong communication (written and oral) and organization skills
• Flexibility to work in shifts that may include evening, weekend and holidays.
• Proficiency in using computer systems and familiarity with basic office software
• Punctual and reliable
• Ability to work as part of a team and independently
• Critical thinking, problem solving skills, and attention to detail
• Financial representation- Creating and discussing treatment plans

The Ideal candidate:

• Experienced working with animals
• Eager to learn and grow skill set
• Veterinary assistant experience preferred, not required
• Team player

Pay: $18.00 hourly

Shifts: 5 days/week, 8 working hours/day
