Frankfort Animal Clinic has been in business for over 50 years.
We are an established, growing, and independently-owned 5 doctor small animal practice with onsite grooming and boarding located in the beautiful capital city of Kentucky.
In addition to wellness care, we have a focus for urgent and advanced medical and surgical care. Our case load varies often from emergency stabilization, to caring for sick patients, to performing orthopedic procedures with plently of new puppy visits in the mix.

```Duties```

- Assist veterinarians in providing medical care to animals

- Perform routine procedures such as vaccinations, blood draws, and dental cleanings

- Monitor and record vital signs of animals during procedures and treatments

- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians

- Prepare animals for surgery and assist during surgical procedures

- Obtain radiographs of animals and prep animal for ultrasound.

- Maintain accurate medical records for all patients

- Provide compassionate care and handle animals with patience and kindness

- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and answer their questions

```Skills```

- Strong knowledge of anesthesia monitoring, IV catheter placement and blood sample collection.

- Proficiency in obtaining dental radiographs and performing dental cleanings

- Familiarity with veterinary terminology and medical procedures

- Working knowledge of animal husbandry, including feeding, grooming, and exercise

- Ability to maintain aseptic technique during medical procedures

- Knowledge of kennel management and animal handling protocols

- Be able to lift 40 pounds

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
