Portland Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Care (PVESC) offers the highest quality veterinary referral and emergency medicine. We have two locations, both in Portland, Maine. Our specialties include surgery, anesthesiology, internal medicine, oncology, ophthalmology, neurology, dermatology, emergency and critical care, and cardiology. Emergency veterinary services are available 24/7/365.

PVESC has a current opening for a full-time veterinary technician assistant (TA) to join our surgery department. This position is Monday through Friday, 8-hour days. There is a possibility for four 10-hour days as well. Our busy surgery department has five board-certified surgeons specializing in soft tissue, orthopedic, laparoscopic, and neurosurgery. Our surgical technician assistant will help with the flow of our daily appointments, making sure our exam rooms are clean and sanitary, bringing clients into the exam rooms, weighing patients, restraining for exams, helping with minor procedures in the exam room such as bandage changes, and escorting clients to the front desk after the appointments. Previous experience with animal restraint is requested.
