Veterinary Assistant prepares treatment room for examination of animals; restrains animals during examination, treatment, or inoculation. Administers injections, performs venipunctures, applies wound dressings, cleans teeth, and takes vital signs of animal. Being a Veterinary Assistant requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. May be required to be certified/licensed. Additionally, Veterinary Assistant is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision of a veterinarian. Post Road Veterinary Clinic is a small, but busy practice with a dedicated staff committed to the care and needs of our patients. Located in the beautiful beach town of Wells, Maine, we are currently hiring a Veterinary Technician to start work immediately. Full-time and part-time work is available. We are open 6 days a week, some Saturdays will be required to work.
We are looking for candidates that can offer compassionate, client-oriented service at a high level of veterinary medicine. Our clinic allows technicians to be technicians. We foster an independent work environment that will utilize your veterinary skills. Applicants must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment, with a strong ability to multi-task and prioritize.
Job Responsibilities:
Prior Veterinary Technician/Medicine experience requested. Technician Certification and anesthesia experience are a plus.
