May be required to be certified/licensed. Additionally, Veterinary Assistant is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. This position is a precursor to the Veterinary Technician level. The primary responsibility of the Veterinary Assistant is to support and assistance to the veterinary medical staff. Provides exemplary patient and client service with a keen sensitivity to the emotional bond between owners and their pets. Responsibilities for this position would include but are not limited to basic record keeping, animal restraint and husbandry, administering oral medications, stocking of medical supplies, and maintaining safety and cleanliness of workspace.
