Administers injections, performs venipunctures, applies wound dressings, cleans teeth, and takes vital signs of animal. Being a Veterinary Assistant requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. May be required to be certified/licensed. Additionally, Veterinary Assistant is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision of a veterinarian. Frontier Veterinary Care is searching for a Veterinary Assistant to help us grow our small animal practice.
This is a part-time role comprised of flexible Monday to Friday Hours and we’re offering a competitive hourly rate of $15-$18 based on experience. Those with prior veterinary, humane society, or other animal-related experience are encouraged to apply, however, we’re also open to training.
Veterinary Assistants play a very important role at Frontier Veterinary Care and are crucial to the future success of our practice. Individuals that are committed to a long-term career in veterinary medicine are highly encouraged to apply for this position.

This position will split assistant and reception duties. Primarily responsibilities include technical duties, advanced client communication and education, front desk duties, and caring for hospitalized patients.
About our hospital:
Frontier Veterinary Care is a new clinic serving rural communities on the western outskirts of Salt Lake City. We currently operate from a mobile unit, with plans to move into a brick and mortar building in the future. Our hospital will be brand new and well-equipped for full GP capabilities. Our future plans include space for 4 exam rooms, paperless PMS, an in-house lab, Olympic dental tables, digital radiology, and all the bells and whistles equipment wise.
