Administers injections, performs venipunctures, applies wound dressings, cleans teeth, and takes vital signs of animal. Being a Veterinary Assistant requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. May be required to be certified/licensed. Additionally, Veterinary Assistant is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. We are a busy veterinary practice serving Flemington and the surrounding areas seeking a compassionate, energetic, and motivated person to join our team. As a veterinary assistant you will be: assisting the doctors in appointments by restraining patients during exams, assisting surgery technicians with aftercare of patients, and tending to medical needs of boarded patients in our hospital. At times you may be asked to help answer phones and triage phone calls.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: caring for our hospitalized patients (feeding, medicating, walking, and bathing), cleaning/sanitizing, laundry, and inventory.
The ideal candidate would be looking for part time work (20-25 hours) with the potential to work more hours. They should have a flexible schedule that would allow them to work weekend hours and some holidays. Pay to commensurate with experience.
