As a Veterinary Assistant, you will provide support to our veterinarian and veterinary technician in delivering high-quality care to our animal patients. Duties:
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians in examinations, treatments, and procedures
- Provide animal restraint during procedures and examinations
- Administer medications as directed by veterinarians
- Clean and sanitize equipment and facilities
- Collect and prepare laboratory samples for testing
- Assist with radiographs and other diagnostic imaging procedures
- Maintain accurate records of patient information and treatments
- Provide compassionate care to animals and their owners
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of animal care practices and procedures
- Proficient in animal restraint techniques
- Understanding of animal physiology and behavior
- Ability to handle dogs of all sizes confidently and safely
- Knowledge of basic dog training techniques is beneficial
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (some college coursework preferred)
- Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal care facility is desirable but not required
- Excellent communication skills
